Happy Friday to all, So last night I got invited to the GQ event at Neiman Marcus on Michigan Ave in celebrating their new Ralph Lauren Black Label shop at Neiman Marcus. In attendance was the GQ Executive stylist and style correspondent Brett Fahlgren himself and the advertising directors, Ford models. The night was flowing with the bubbly, wine and  some horderves.  I always find these kind of events to being a great place to mingle and network with people in the creative world.

Happy Sunday to all, Trick-or-treating started a little early in the neighborhood this year at the Palatine Plaza and since baby Honour was all about it this year I thought lets go for it. As soon as we got there he just came alive seeing all the other kids dressed up in their costumes. My job was to just capture this moment and what fun he had.
As soon as we got home he couldn't wait to see his pictures, then a lightbulb moment...why not just creat a comic book using some of the picture we took, make up a fun superhero story as we went along so that way he can always remember his very first Halloween costume. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.

...to be continued.

                                             STAY AS FASHION AS POSSIBLE

Monday, September 9, 2013

Hey guys, know that New York Fashion Week has come to an end, l want to take a moment and recap all of my favorite moments on the runway. I would also like to hear from you guys on which shows where your favorites by leaving a comment below

       DVF

Diane Van Furstenberg collection took me on a journey to the Safari deserts, with its very warm, earthy colours. She truelly designs for a woman more like herself.

PRABAL GURUNG
I first knew of Prabal when he collaborated with Target earlier this year for his valentines collection. I appreciated the choice of fabric and materials he used for his ss14 collection, quite different and interesting.

ALEXANDER WANG
Very clean and structured shapes. Mr Wang experimented with some self branding for his Spring 14 collection, some people loved this new look compared to his ss13 line and some not so much but one thing is for sure RiRi loves anything that Mr Wang designs. She was sported out wearing one of the crew necks just last week and last year she wore one of his dresses for one of her performances.

REBECCA MINKOFF
Rebecca can never do no wrong in my eyes, the colours, prints, the lace up boots. This collection screamed effortless and sassy at the sometime. Ladies also keep an eye out for the halo braid trend this up coming seasons.

VICTORIA BECKHAM
Victoria made a believer out of me with this collection that she does deserve a spot in the fashion inderesty. I can't totally see her rocking some of these pieces and looking oh so POSH, very fresh and crisp if I may add.

                                                                       DEREK LAM

He formed the African embroidery in the most minimalistic way, also the sinplistity of the collection is what really caught my eye and the fact that he brought turbans back onto the runway.

                                                                            L.A.M.B

Gwen Stefani's collection was one of my favorites, it had my name written all over it, it was bold, fierce and still fun just as I had expected.

                                                                MILLY

Milly's collection demonstrated that hourglass silhouette, very feminine but with an edge. I loved the use of the knite mesh material which came in classic black and white.  I want everything from this collection.

                                                                               DKNY

HAPPY 25th year DKNY and what a way to celebrate by revisiting some of the labels biggest and best looks over the past quarter of a century. How modern meets freshness, I lived.

                                                                          DION LEE

The line where abselutly breathtaking on the minimal detail, edge and a refreshion vision I've never seen before. This Australian designer is a true innovator with his impeccable ensembles.

                                                                           JASON WU

Details seemed to be the embodiment of Mr Wu's vision for this collection, the sequins, silks, strong ang soft colour. The contraction of some of the dresses was just effortless, it's not hard to see why the likes of the First Lady Michelle Obama  and a few other women just admire his work.

                                                                 CLOVER CANYON

When it come to being truly creative and thinking outside the box, I have to hand it to Clover Canyon. To create this collection she not only draw inspiration from the 1950s California, she actually used the architectural blueprint, furniture overviews, and sci-fi feeling scenics. True innovator.
