As a blogger, scouting the internet for great and fresh bloggers to follow, like or subscribe to is just part of what we do, whether it’s for inspiration, artistic, humor, photography whatever the reason may be.  So a few years back when I started seeing this little girl becoming a regular at every major designer fashion shows at FW, gracing the front row  seats all around the world ,where you can see her rubbing shoulders with likes of Anna Wintour “Editor in Chief of the Holy Grail Vogue” , Karl Lagerfeld, Bryanboy. I couldn’t help but wonder who was this Benjamin Button looking girl and where were her parents?
Come to find that Tavi Gevinson is an American blogger that started her own fashion blog “Style Rookie” in 2008 at a tender age of 11, right outside of Chicago, Oak Park. Where she shared pictures she took with herself using a tripod and timer in front of her house and around her neighborhood of her quirky, vintage/high fashion sensibility in a very amazingly interesting way, with also collages of everything else she likes; her runway obsessions to her  t(w)eenage thoughts.  Soon after she captivated the fashion industry’s internet audience, she was the new darling of fashion and John Galliano was one of the 50,000 people that were following her blog, becoming Rodarte Kate and a Tokyo’s designers fashion muse, to being on numerous magazine covers to writing for Harper’s Bazaar and to having Lady Gaga dub her the future of journalism. In 2011 and 2012 she appeared on the Forbes List 30 under 30 in the Medias list.
In 2011 she launched her very own online magazine called “Rookie”   which she is Editor in Chief.  Rookie Mag is a very interactive online magazine which focuses on teen girls around her age and issues  impacting teens today. It is also written by teenage girls and also featured guest contributors. Their categories include fiction and diaries alongside music, fashion, school, sex and more. From light topics on how to make a bitchface to tackling serious issues like Malala Yousafzai ( the 14 year-old Pakistani schoolgirl activist who was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen. Just last year in 2012 to commemorate the magazines first year a once –off print edition of the mag. Rookies  Year -Book  one was published by Drawn and Quarterly. Now at 16 the unstoppable Tavi is a full-blown media mogul that is taking a little break from fashion week and lending her hand in acting and singing and also wanting to spend more time with her boyfriend. I guess it is safe to say that this here, Benjamin Button is aging very well.
